Update. Kitty is doing great, she is at k9 most days and goes for walks with various people. Please come and meet her 🙏🙏
This is Kitty’s story, it started back in early April when K9 received a message about a dog (3.3kg) that was found with a severe wound that wouldn’t heal. I went to collect the dog and took her home. One look at the wound and I knew it was severe skin cancer. She went to our vet for a check and xray, she also had a urine infection. A few weeks later she returned for another check. She was better and put on some weight. The decision was made that her only chance of life was to have the tumours cut out. She went for surgery and 5 weeks later had the staples removed, now 4.5kg. The wound has healed up amazingly. She is now ready for adoption. I have included photos of the wound as its important to know how much pain she was in. She was very withdrawn and didnt like to be touched. Now she runs around and comes for attention. She is still not a great “cuddle and sit on your lap dog” but as she grows with confidence, I believe this will improve. She is fine with dogs but can be jealous. Cats she is ok but she does like to run at them, she soon turns when hissed at. She is not suitable for a first time dog owner and she still isn’t completely housetrained. She is about 7 years old.
