I’m Pluto. I have spent almost all my life at the refuge. A very kind person took me here six years ago when they found as a young puppy all alone and abandoned in a town on the west coast. I was very shy and frightened then and I still am with people I don’t know. I even find it hard to be close to my people here at K9 and I know them very well.
The refuge is the only home I have known and I feel safe here. I prefer when there are not many strangers around, though. I stay in my kennel when people come to see me and my friends and, when they stop to speak to me, I am so frightened that I shake and stay in the corner. Visitors get very sad about that and sometimes cry, but it is just the way I am. I do go out walking with people but only of I have seen them before and I will rarely come close to them for a treat.
My people here say I am the most handsome boy and so deserve a chance to have my own family. I hope that day comes but I know that it will take a very special person to share their life with me. I know I could learn to love and be affectionate but it would take lots of time and understanding. I would love if you would be my sponsor.
